Does water get through?

The engine automatically imports the actual selected voxel mask from the original V0–V13 V10 stage, solves water transport at its exact resolution against an equally sized open reference, then chooses follow-up geometric changes from observed failures in flow or solid fraction, checking each hypothesis numerically. Pressure and computed chronological dye transport are visualised across two connected 2D canvases. No parameters to enter. The selected original V10 geometry can then be used by the toroidal iris experiment, including a matched-grid geometric resistance ratio (research proxy, not FSI).

RESEARCH MODEL — This is a steady, laminar pore-network hydraulic approximation, not a certified CFD calculation. Its throat radius is assumed, not measured. Results cannot establish an engineering permeability without validation.

Automatic membrane discovery · pressure loss

Comparing an open reference with V10 membrane structures. Designs must contain 25–75% solid and pass 20% of the reference flow at the same pressure.

GEOMETRYFLOW / OPENSOLIDREQUIRED ΔP

Every field belongs to a specific mask. The original selected V10 mask is compared only with its SAME-RESOLUTION open reference. The autonomous follow-up sweep uses a smaller grid; its absolute flow rates are not directly comparable with the native-grid result.

AUTO-LOADED PHYSICAL GEARS

Solid membrane → pore topology → pressure → chronological tracer → evidence-driven revision.

SET CONDITIONS: WATER · 20°C · µ = 0.001002 Pa·s · ΔP = 1 Pa · CELL PITCH = 1 mm · ASSUMED THROAT RADIUS = 0.25 mm.

Required volume flow is automatically set to 20% of the empty reference. Among structures that meet that flow and contain 25–75% solid, lower pressure loss at the target flow is better. Nothing is called an improvement over the unobstructed reference.

What is solved — and what is not

Every void voxel is connected to adjacent void voxels by assumed equal cylindrical throats. Hagen–Poiseuille conductance defines each bond; nodal mass conservation yields the pressure field. The model enforces impermeable solids and calculates water moving between adjacent XY sheets. No visual particles are invented.

The stepwise dye model assumes that the computed pressure-driven water flow stays constant while a passive tracer enters the inlet. Every time step conserves transported dye-equivalent volume and measures when it first reaches the outlet (1% of inlet concentration). A different route can produce a different arrival time. This is not time-resolved Navier–Stokes.

Neglected: actual pore volume, molecular diffusion, mixing, detailed pore geometry, actual throat-size distribution, inertia, entrance losses, turbulence, solid chemistry, temperature evolution, and Navier–Stokes velocity profiles. Numerical error is checked, but the physical model remains a simplified approximation. This is **not** validated permeability or real-world optimization.
